Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. Everything works without one. An account is optional and only links your own devices so your saved spots appear on all of them.
Why does SeaWindow ask for my location?
To show conditions near you and to center the spot picker on where you are. Location is used only while the app is open — never in the background — and you can decline it and pick spots by hand.
Where does SeaWindow work?
It launches with coverage along the California coast (72 hand-verified spots across the state), with more regions to follow.
Where does the data come from?
Forecasts from Open-Meteo, plus buoy observations, tides and official marine warnings from the U.S. government (NOAA, NWS, NDBC and CO-OPS). SeaWindow combines them into one plain call for your spot.
How do I set or stop alerts?
Open a saved spot and set the thresholds you care about, or turn on official-warning alerts. You can change or switch them off on the same screen at any time.
How do I delete my account or data?
Use the delete option in the app, or email us at contact@mituxlabs.com and we will delete your account and everything synced to it. Spots kept only on your device are removed when you delete the app.
Is my location tracked in the background?
No. SeaWindow does not track your movements and does not use your location when the app is closed.
